reached school..

6.55am
vice-principal, mr yong, saw me, said hi to me, asked me to wait for the rest to arrive before meeting him..

7.00am
alex came.. then bixian and chuhui.. and finally, mayling..

7.15am
met with mr yong.. he briefed us a little on todae's programme, then we had to go for the morning assembly liaoz..

7.30am
morning assembly almost over, principal, mr lim, introduced us to the school.. mr yong asked us to wait for him at the canteen while he talked to the sec 4s in the hall.. mayling is taken away by her mentor, mrs teo.. the remaining 4 of us walked around the school compound.. some upper sec boys saw us, and greeted us "cheerfully".. chuhui said they very friendly.. well, ya bah.. haha..

8.00am
we finished walking round the school, decided to wait at the canteen for mr yong.. mayling came back with some tasks to do.. mr yong finished his talk with the sec 4s, came down to meet us and talked to us abt miscellaneous issues..

9.00am
mr yong finished his chatting with us, asked us to wait in the conference room..

9.15am
the AV crew came in to set up the AV stuff.. mr yong came back and continue talking abt the school's vision, mission, system..

10.00am
mr yong finished his talking, finally.. handed us over to the operation manager, mr wee.. mr wee brought us around the school, telling us abt the different blocks in the school, the locations of various rooms, etc..

10.30am
tour around the school completed.. we were given some table space in the resource room in the staff room.. we were on our own again.. all of us except mayling had nothing planned for us to do cos we all had not met our mentors yet.. so we decided to find our mentors first.. my mentor was not at her table, so i decided to go find her at the bio lab since she was supposed to be having lessons at 11.10am..

11.05am
i walked over to the bio lab.. a class was having lesson in bio lab 1.. so i walked to bio lab 2, then a teacher came out as shouted,"ms ang?" so she was my mentor, mrs lim.. dun think she is a mrs means she is very old.. actually, she is very young, not yet 30 i think.. anyway, she said her lesson was ending at 11.10am, not starting at 11.10am, so she asked me to go back to staff room and wait for her there instead..

11.15am
i met my mentor in the staff room.. discussed with her abt the project that i was supposed to do..she said i can use the school facilities to do watever i want for my project - internet surfing, printing, laminating, anything.. ya.. anyway, i asked her what time i can leave school, she said the earliest a teacher can leave is 2.10pm.. so ya, going to tuition for me in the afternoon is not a problem den.. anyway, she did not have any more bio classes for the rest of the day, only maths classes.. haha, so 巧, she is also teaching maths and my 2nd teaching subject is maths too.. so i asked if i can joined her in her maths classes and she said ok.. so i was left on my own again until 12.40pm when her maths lesson starts..

12.00pm
alex switched on a computer to try out a maths cd-rom which his mentor gave him.. apparently, it's a very fool-proof cd-rom - very slow and too simple..

12.15pm
alex, chuhui, bixian and i went to the canteen for lunch.. ate the 云吞面.. not very delicious, but edible la.. ya..

12.40pm
went to mrs lim's class to observe her.. the class is 3e2, which means the students are in the express stream and are supposed to be the 2nd best in the level.. but they came for class late, made a lot of noise, 1/3 of the class did not do their homework.. mrs lim was so angry that she chased those who did not do the homework out of the class, not allowing them back into the class unless they finished the homework outside the class.. by then, already 20 mins of the lesson gone.. then she started teaching the class about how to draw tangents to a curve.. none of them gave her 100% attention and all of them still blur blur of wat she was saying after she finished.. another 20 mins of the lesson gone.. she allowed those outside the class into the room, taught the whole thing abt tangents to the whole class again.. gave them 2 mins to discuss abt it.. another 10 mins of the lesson gone.. she went thru the last part of the question, answered a few questions, ring ring ring.. the bell gone, and her lesson was over.. so, yup, she spent 1 hour going thru a maths question consisting of 4 parts.. kinda slow, but no choice..

1.40pm
asked mrs lim whether i will get to teach.. she says if i want, i can.. if i want to teach maths, oso can.. but she says let me concentrate on my project first.. i can think abt the teaching next week..

1.50pm
back into the staff room, the gals were there, alex was with his mentor.. i 陪 mayling to eat lunch at the canteen, since she din eat with us juz now..

2.30pm
me and mayling back to the staff room.. waiting for 3.00pm to come so that the staff briefing can start..

3.00pm
staff briefing abt the compulsory revision time-slot (crt).. sec 4s & 5s taking 'O' & 'N' levels have to stay back after school every day to revise.. me and the other 4 juz sat there and listened.. this basically has nothing to do with us..

3.30pm
met up with mr yong & the rest of the mentors at the conference.. mr yong talked for only 5 min.. mrs lim discussed with me abt the project again.. 4.00pm ok, finally can go home liaoz.. my legs hurt, a lot.. =(

at the end of the day..
the day was really not so bad.. my mentor is really nice.. young and very helpful and very considerate.. 3e2 is really not so lousy.. they are a bunch of nice kids, maybe juz a bit mischievous.. but there are some who really want to learn, except that they may learn it todae, forget abt it tmr.. haiz.. but ya, i look forward to see them again on thurs.. and maybe i may get to teach them too.. =)
